The Bachelor of Science study programme "Industrial Engineering with specialization in Logistics"

The logistics studies at the Otto-von-Guericke-University in Magdeburg offers a broad, challenging and interdisciplinary education in scientific and application-oriented aspects. Knowledge is imparted in the fields of engineering, economics, business mamagement as well as in computer sciences. Technical application fileds like production technology, material handling systems, information and communication technology complete the offered study courses.
The Logistcs Workshop (Logistik Werkstatt), a concept for modern education, is in the center of the task-oriented studies and is unique in Germany. The Logistics Workshop establishes the connection between the gained knowledge of the diverse study fields with a set of semester projects and hands-on training. Therewith the Logistics Workshop creates the preconditions for a practical, logistic based utilization of the gained knowledge.

The Bachelor degree programme is modular structured and includes 210 Credit Points (CP) with a 7 semester standard period of study.

The education is multi-faceted and includes besides the obligatory modules, which impart the basic mathematical, technical and business sciences knowledge, also hands-on training, internships and project work.  

To emphasis the expert knowledge, the students can deepen their special fields according to their personal interests in the fields:

  • energy efficiency & value creation,
  • supply chain network & IT,
  • automation & ergonomics,
  • transportation & environment (ecology).

Students show with their Bachelor Thesis, that they are capable of handling complex topics (problems) based on actual projects and that they gained the ability to use diverse disciplinary expertise and scientific methods.
